Allied Health Program Objectives
The MAHS Program provides allied health services to rural populations within areas classified as:
- Rural
- Remote
- Metropolitan (RRMA 4 - 7)
Its Primary Health Care focus seeks to better link GPs with the allied health sector, allowing the GP to focus on General Practice.
Funding
Within this Network, MAHS funding is used for the provision of Diabetes Clinics in Corowa, Culcairn, Holbrook, Howlong
Referral
GPs can refer their clients with diabetes to the Clinic if they reside in the near vicinity. A referral letter is required with relevant pathology (fasting glucose, HBA1C, Cholesterol including triglycerides, LDLD. HDL. Total/HDL, microalbumin). Relevant pathology is required for the initial appointment and is to be updated regularly throughout the year.
