Who can be referred to the Network Clinic?

The ATAPS program is available for people are unable to access mental health support privately i.e. Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers under Better Access.  The ATAPS Network clinic is not for people with chronic or long standing or servere mental health problems which may be better responded to by Albury Wodonga Health Community Mental Health Service on the Victorian side or Community Mental Health through the Murrumbigee Health Network (formerly Greater Southern Area Health Service) in NSW.  A Health Care or Pension Card is required. The Scheme is also designed to provide short-term solution-focused psychological strategies for patients with mild to moderate emotional concerns  such as depression or anxiety. (i.e. not severe or long-standing concerns)

How many sessions can a Patient attend?

Sessions are limited to six, scheduled fortnightly apart.

Where and when are the Sessions held?

Sessions are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Network Clinic, Suite 2/175 Lawrence St, Wodonga.

How do I refer a Patient to the Network Clinic?

  1. The GP is required to provide an assessment and brief report (Mental Health Plan) to the Psychologist.  
This information can EITHER be given to the patient who will bring it to their first session OR faxed directly to the Network Clinic on 02 6049 1999. 
  1. An appointment is made by telephoning the Network Clinic on 02 6049 1900.

    Sue Klippel (Administration - AWRGPN) will make all appointments and answer any queries with regard to the Network Clinic. Sue works from Tuesday - Thursday each week. If you telephone and Sue is not available, please leave a message and she will return your call.

The appointment can EITHER be made by the patient or GP
 

How will the Psychologist let me know how things are going?

The Psychologist will send a brief letter to the GP after the first appointment. After six sessions the Psychologist will provide a short report detailing progress and outcomes. Patient progress may be discussed with the Psychologist at any time by telephone.

Does the Patient pay any fees?

There is no charge to the patient under this scheme.
