New! 40 QA&CPD Points for Supervison of Registrars and Teaching Medical Students
The National QA&CPD unit has put together an 'Individual GP Supervisor Active Learning Module (ALM)' for GP Supervisors looking after Registrars. This will entitle GP Supervisors to claim 40 category 1 points once within the triennium. All you need to do is to submit a completed Supervision of GP Registrars PGPPP- Active Learning Module (ALM) to your respective QA&CPD Unit.
GPs who are teaching medical students in universities are now able to claim 40 category 1 points for it. The National QA&CPD Unit have recently introduced an Individual GP - Teaching Medical Student Active Learning Module (ALM) for GPs. You can now claim 40 category 1 points once within a triennium by submitting a completed Teaching Medical Students Application to your respective QA&CPD Unit.

The BRTN is one of 22 General Practice education and training organisations across Australia. Established in 2002, it is funded by the Commonwealth Government.
Key Stakeholders:
- 3 Divisions of General Practice, Albury Wodonga Regional GP Network, North East Victorian Division and Goulburn Valley Division
- Major regional hospitals in Shepparton, Wangaratta, Wodonga and Albury
- Rural Clinical Schools attached to Melbourne University at Shepparton and the University of NSW Albury
- Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine
- Royal Australian College of General Practitioners
- BRTN Registrars.
Registrars:
Selection of Registrars into BRTN is a competitive process administered centrally by General Practice Education and Training (GPET). Registrars come to the region for 3-4 years completing their 1st year in local hospitals. During the basic and advanced terms training takes place in BRTN teaching practices. The 3rd year is either a further 12 months in General Practice in the region or 6 months General practice and 6 months Special Skills. An optional 4th year is Advanced Rural Skills.
