The Network collects information that is necessary to undertake programs, activities or functions. These include facilitating the exchange of information between Networks / Divisions and other organisations as required.
Under the Privacy Act, certain types of personal information are regarded as sensitive and are treated with a high standard of care which is consistent with Commonwealth and State privacy legislation.

INFORMATION COLLECTED:
AWRGPN collects contact information about individual GPs
which is validated by contacting the GPs practice.
AWRGPN collects personal contact information from Networks / Divisions
of General Practice, and other parties, including names
of staff and board members. AWRGPN collects personal information about employees and
contractors which is limited to standard Human Resources
information requirements.
USE OF INFORMATION:
Contact information is used to facilitate the exchange of information between GPs, Networks / Divisions, their peak bodies, government departments and other stakeholders.
The AWRGPN does not use or disclose information for commercial purposes. Personal information may be disclosed when:
- It is required by law, for law enforcement or
- It is necessary to protect the rights, property or personal safety of a third party.
Staff are bound by contract Confidentiality Clauses.
QUALITY, ACCURACY, SECURITY:
The AWRGPN takes all reasonable steps to ensure the information is kept secure, accurate and up-to-date.
WEBSITE:
AWRGPN may collect information on users of the website for statistical purposes. This may include, the date and time of site visits, server address, pages accessed and documents downloaded. This information would be collected for statistical purposes only, to enable improvement to the website. Users can disable their browsers to refuse this collection.
